THE Donegal Mica 100% Redress no Less group is planning a demonstration in Lifford on Saturday, September 11 outside the offices of Donegal County Council and are calling on as many families as possible to attend.
Campaigner, Paddy Diver will be the guest speaker as they continue their calls for 100% redress for the affected homes which are crumbling because of defective blocks.
The demonstration takes place at 2 pm outside the Council’s HQ.
Meanwhile a spokesperson for the group reiterated that there is no split among the redress campaigners despite such rumours circulating.
Lisa Doherty stressed that they are all working together for the same result – a fair scheme for those home owners affected by mica or pyrite.
“We are all working together and we all have one simple goal, 100% redress no less. Why should we be treated differently than those in Leinster were treated who had pyrite in their homes. We have done nothing wrong yet we are left in this position and the people who caused it are not held responsible. It is vital that we keep our plight in the public domain and keep the pressure on for 100%,” she said.
She added that a small number of people were posting negative comments in the 100% Redress no Less Facebook page in an attempt to cause trouble. The group now vet all posts to the page which is public.
“The Facebook page is there for me and you and anyone else who has concerns or have information. The Mica Action Group are in discussions with the government working group which concludes in September. We are all in this working together for everyone affected,” Ms Doherty added.
