Mica Action Group going through regulations closely

The Mica Action Group (MAG) is currently going through the latest version of the draft regulations with “a fine tooth comb”. The long awaited updated regulations were published earlier this week.

The Chair of MAG, Lisa Hone told the Donegal News that the group is currently reviewing the highly detailed regulations, ensuring their understanding and interpretations are correct.
MAG is one of the stakeholders across the eligible counties that are reviewing the newly published regulations.

“There are a number of organisations that are doing the same at the minute,” Ms Hone confirmed.

The relevant stakeholder’s reviews will then be cumulated into a submission to the Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien. During a Dáil debate Minister O’Brien expressed that he is “keen” to meet with affected residents in Donegal soon.

MAG said that listening and engaging with homeowners is critical, as is the delivery of vital support and infrastructure such as temporary housing. They added that anything less is simply lip service.
