Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy and Councillor Gary Doherty have held discussions with representatives of the Castlefinn Partnership Initiative (CPI) to discuss solutions to the flooding problems, which have caused significant destruction and distress for residents, business owners and service providers in the Donegal town.
CPI representatives Stephen Kennedy and Sylvia McGlinchey presented detailed propsals for new flood defences to the Sinn Fein representatives at a meeting on Friday, 20th May.
MEP Matt Carthy has committed to assisting the community in Castlefinn in whatever way he can to ensure that funds are accessed to build adequate flood defences to prevent future flood damage to houses, businesses and vital services in the town.
