WORRIED about that extra weight? Thinking about getting more active? Want to improve your overall health and well-being? Donegal Sports Partnership, in collaboration with the HSE, are re-launching the popular ‘Men on the Move’ programme over the coming weeks in the areas of Falcarragh, Lifford & Milford. Men on the Move is a physical activity programme that is aimed at adult men (+35) to get them active, have fun and improve their fitness levels.
It involves: Twice-weekly physical activity sessions over 12 weeks that are led by a qualified instructor to meet your needs; Structured physical activity sessions so that you can find a level and pace that suits you; Workshops on nutrition and well-being for men.
The programme is FREE and will culminate with a Men on the Move 5k Walk/Run in December. Open evenings, where men can come along and get a free health check, information on healthy eating and sign up to the activity programme, have been organised as follows: Tuesday, 2nd September @ 8pm, Ray Community Centre, Milford; Wednesday, 3rd September @ 7pm, The YARD Centre, Falcarragh; Thursday, 4th September @ 7pm, Lifford Clonleigh Resource Centre.
Activities on offer include walking, light jogging and strengthening exercises. There will be leader and healthcare professional there on the night to answer any questions that you may have about any of the proposed activities.
