Two middle aged men suffered burns and other injuries on Thursday night following an accident near Annagry.
It is understood the men were working outside a house when an exploding barrel caused significant burns. One of the men is understood to have received facial injuries and burns, while the other received lower body burns.
The accident happened near a private house at Ranamona just off the main road between Annagry and Ranafast.
Fire crews from Dungloe and Gweedore, ambulance crews from Dungloe and Gardai rushed to the scene just before 6pm.
The men were initially transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital before one of them was transferred that night to the burns unit at Galway University Hospital late on Thursday night. It is understood the second man will also attend the burns unit following treatment of other injuries.
