THE three males who were arrested near Ballybofey on suspicion of terrorism offences on Thursday morning have all been released without charge.
A car was stopped by the Northern Regional Support Unit at 4am on Thursday, the vehicle was searched and the men arrested. They were held on suspicion of terrorism offences after bomb was discovered in Glenrandel Eglington village, Co Derry, after suspicious activity was reported to police at around 2.45am on Thursday morning.
The car is now subject to a technical examination and searches are ongoing in the vicinity of where the car was stopped.
The prisoners (late 20s to late 30s) had been detained under Section 30 of Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Letterkenny (2) and Milford (1) Garda Stations but were released without charge on Friday evening.
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
