Meeting to address Dungloe wind farm concerns

TOMORROW a public meeting will take place in Dungloe to hear community concerns over a planned wind farm for the area.

This follows a planning application lodged by Irish Premium Renewable Energy Ltd for a proposed development at Croaghnashallog.

The site which is located 2km from the town will span a total area of over 90 hectares and include five turbines.

However, the Dungloe Wind Turbine Action Group is calling for the proposed development to be stopped.

“Our meeting is open to Dungloe and surrounding areas who would like to attend or help out in any way to save our bog ground from being destroyed,” the group said.

The meeting will take place at 7pm on Friday, October 3 in Ionad Teampeall Chroine.
