Meet the team behind Donegal’s first board game

Minister McHugh rolls  the dice on a game of Hotspots with class Fionn students Emily Blake, Olivia Cuskelly and Katie Devine.

THE young team behind Donegal’s first board game will be in Letterkenny Shopping Centre tomorrow (Friday).

Hotspots is the brainchild of Loreto Convent students Emma Howard, Alannah Sweeney, Aifric Ní Fhearraigh and Jade McCollum.

A Monopoly-style game, Hotspots takes the player on a journey across the county, passing landmarks like Fanad Lighthouse, the Villa Rose Hotel, Foras Na Gaeilge, the Silver Tassie and many more. There is even an opportunity to enjoy a day trip with Mr and Mrs Donegal themselves – Daniel and Majella O’Donnell.

It was officially launched last month by Minister of State Joe McHugh who praised the quartet’s entrepreneurial spirit and business accumen.

Tomorrow (Friday) Aifric, Emma, Alannah and Jade will be in Letterkenny Shopping Centre, meeting and greeting customers.

While normally Hotspots costs €12, tomorrow it will be on offer at an introductary price of €10.

It is the ideal present for those rainy Donegal days and the perfect way to get the little ones off the tablets and laptops.

The Hotspots team will be in the shopping centre from 10am onward and look forward to seeing everyone and chatting about their creation.
