Naomh Columba 1-15 Cloughaneely 1-10
Naomh Columba came away with the points in Pairc na nGael on Saturday evening.
Cloughaneely led by 1-6 0-7 at half-time.
Shane Callaghan was in great form early on for the hosts with a brace of two-pointers, while Declan McGuire was also on target.
Shaun McGarvey got the Pairc Naomh Fionnan men on the scoresheet early.
Conor Coyle and Donnachadh Ó Baoighill followed up with points before Shaun McGarvey got a goal as the break approached.
That left Michael Lynch’s men four ahead but crucially McGuire and Callaghan kicked points late in the half for Glen.
The second half was a slow burner with the first score coming 12 minutes in from Patrick Doohan.
The introduction of Kevin McNern seemed to get the hosts going and Callaghan (2) and Darragh Cunningham were on target.
Ó Baoighill and Callaghan swapped points before Eric Carr nudged Naomh Columba in front in the 47th minute.
The big score of the match came six minutes later when Carr set up Kevin McNern to palm into the net and the locals were delighted.
Carr and Pauric Ward added points to their tally, and while Ciaran McGeady raised a white flag for Cloughaneely that was cancelled out by Pauric Hegarty.
Ó Baoighill had the final say of the match but his team made the long journey home empty-handed.
