It will be an interesting week for one Ramelton household, as Friday night’s eagerly-awaited clash between Finn Harps and Derry City draws closer.
Tony McNamee is expected to be in the Finn Harps squad for the Ballybofey side’s return to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, while his older brother Barry will be part of the Derry team.
The pair have played together on countless occasions, but Friday’s encounter will be only the second time that they will have come up against each other in a competitive game.
Their first meeting came in the Letterkenny & District Under 16 League, when Tony represented Swilly Rovers, and Barry lined out for Rathmullan Celtic.
“We played against each other once. It was an under 16 match between Rathmullan and Swilly,” said 24-year-old Barry.
“The game finished in a draw, but I didn’t finish the game. I went off injured at half-time. You can take a guess at who took me out!
