DONEGAL’S teak-tough defender Stephen McMenamin is looking forward to lining out in Croke Park against Meath in the Division 2 League Final tomorrow (Saturday) at 5pm.
McMenamin has some experience of Croke Park dating back to when he was a minor in 2014.
He helped Donegal see off Dublin in the Minor semi-final at Headquarters, but unfortunately lost out to Kerry in the decider.
He didn’t have much luck when he came up against the Dubs in the Super 8s last year either, but it’s still a venue that he enjoys playing in, and he hopes it won’t be Donegal’s only visit this year.
“Any day you’re in Croke Park, you’re going to be taking it seriously,” said the Red Hugh’s defender, who has been in brilliant form this season.
“Everybody wants to be playing when you get to Croke Park, and that means there will be a good week of training this week.
“We’re preparing for championship at the end of the day, and you’re hoping that you might get back there later in the year, so it’s great that we have the final there this week.”
