FINN Harps captain Kevin McHugh’s season appears to be over after he almost severed his finger in a freak accident on Wednesday evening.
McHugh was conducting a coaching session when his wedding ring got caught in a fence.
The 36-year-old immediately drove himself to Letterkenny University Hospital to try and save the finger. He was then sent to Galway University Hospital by ambulance. He tweeted this picture of his horrific injury.

Harps released a statement last night saying: “Best wishes to our club captain Kevin McHugh who will be on route to Galway Hospital by ambulance shortly to treat a very nasty injury following an accident today. #Thereisonlyonekevinmchugh
The injury will rule the Killea native out of Friday night’s big league game with Bray Wanderers.
