McGurrin hoping to win for injured star Dolan

AODH Ruadh sharpshooter David McGurrin says his team are determined to win Sunday’s final for their injured colleague, David Dolan.

The talented Dolan took the group stages of the Intermediate Championship by storm, but then cracked a bone in his ankle in the quarter-final win over Gaeil Fhánada.

He won’t feature in the remainder of the championship, but McGurrin and Aodh Ruadh will do everything in their power to ensure that he will still end the campaign with a medal.

“David has been a huge player for us all year,” said McGurrin, who has impressed in the championship.

“He’s a great team player as well and he’s always there at training, and a good lad to have around.

“Unfortunately, he picked up a bad injury against Fanad, but hopefully we can do it for him on Sunday.”
