Jim McGuinness’s Donegal ran out worthy winners against Roscommon in a challenge match at Fr Tierney Park today,
Oisin Gallen scored five points as Donegal led by 0-9 to 0-2 at half-time after playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half.
Conor Cox did hit a goal for Roscommon in the 45th minute but Jamie Brennan immediately cancelled that out with a great goal for Donegal.
Shane O’Donnell and Peadar Mogan followed up with points, but the away side kept going and Donie Smith scored a penalty.
Donegal didn’t panic and Ronan Frain raced clear to score a lovely goal at the end of the match.
