Donegal manager Jim McGuinness was in upbeat form after the Dr McKenna Cup Final in Omagh.
McGuinness’s men impressed and won by 2-17 to 0-11.
Donegal fans were concerned when All Star defender Brendan McCole was replaced after 19 minutes.
However, McGuinness allayed fears that it was a serious complaint and McCole should be fit for the start of the National League.
“Sometimes he has an issue – it might happen once or twice a year – it’s like a neuro thing, nothing soft tissue but if you keep going with it, it gets worse,” said McGuinness after the match.
“So we didn’t want to take any risks with him.
“He will be fine tomorrow probably. That’s the way these things work.
“No he’s fine and I think everybody else is the Same we got a clean bill of health there coming out of it.”
