Donegal manager Jim McGuinness will take charge of Sunday’s Dr McKenna Cup semi-final meeting with Monaghan after being cleared of a proposed eight-week ban.
In a statement issued this morning by Donegal GAA, it was revealed that the Donegal GAA secretary was informed that the alleged infraction was not proven.
“No further disciplinary action is to be taken,” the statement added.
McGuinness was hit with the suspension after the fielding of an ineligible player – Finbarr Roarty – in the opening Dr McKenna Cup tie on Wednesday, January 3.
Donegal won the game at MacCumhaill Park by 3-16 to 1-6.
The Donegal GAA statement reads: “Following a request by Jim McGuinness to the Ulster Hearings committee, the County secretary has been informed that the alleged infraction was not proven, and that no further disciplinary action is to be taken.
“We can now look forward to our Mc Kenna cup semi-final against Monaghan on Sunday.”
Sunday’s game in Castleblayney throws-in at 1pm.
The other semi-final is on Saturday with Armagh hosting Derry at 4pm.
