Uncle Con,
You were my Dads bestfriend & when he was on his deathbed you made a promise to look after our family. You were a Father Figure, Friend & Mentor and we will forever be grateful for those years we got to make you our very own. You were a great story teller and we will cherish all those special memories we created with you. We send our heartfelt condolences to your siblings and their families at this sad time. Go with our love Uncle Con Joe, Ngapera, Arielle, Jayden, Ohana & Mahalo (your fur grandkids), Helen, Henry, Prayzes & Hezekiel and from Epi Swan.
This is your poem written by my partner Ngapera…it’s your message to us all. It’s called:
TIME TO LEAVE
Across a thousand miles
On Oceans vast & wide…
I made my journey homeward bound
But a thousand tears I cried…
The place I laid my hat
Is the place I once called home….
On the shores of Aoteroa
I never felt alone….
Friends became my family
Love it filled my heart….
Even all this distance
Will not keep us apart….
My time on earth was valued
Blessed in every way…
Don’t be sad I’m leaving
This time I cannot stay….
Remember me for the Man I am
The promise made to you…
The bond we shared together
Is one we can’t undo….
Cherish each & everyday
Don’t let it pass you by….
I lived my life with passion
Now it’s my time to fly….
Picture me on the moors of Donegal
A child once again….
I wave to you then walk away
But know it’s not the end….
Let your tears flow now
It’s time to celebrate….
Remember me often
As I leave for Heaven’s gate….
I bid you all farewell
Please try not to grieve…
Wipe away your tears
It’s time for me to leave….
