McGettigan goals help Termon advance to final four

Goals made the difference as Termon made their way into the semi-final of the Intermediate Football Championship with a five point win over Naomh Columba in Páirc Aodh Rua.

An early Aaron Doherty penalty was saved by Darragh Russell and hit rebound hit the bar was punished, as Termon went up the other end and Bobby McGettigan fisted in.

Doherty added a couple of frees and Declan McGuire hit two points as Naomh Columba went into the break 1-3 to 0-5 behind, Daire McDaid hitting the three Termon points.

Another McGettigan goal in the second half in similar fashion had Termon in control and while Doherty’s frees helped a battling Glen side get back to within three points, McDaid, Steve McElwaine and Cian McMenamin added points to ensure the victory.
