Colm McFadden is expected to join Leo McLoone’s backroom team with the Donegal Under 20s next season.
McLoone of Naomh Conaill was confirmed as the new manager of the Under 20s tonight. He had previously been part of Gary Duffy’s management team.
Eamon McGee (Gaoth Dobhair) and Owenie McGarvey (Naomh Muire) will be part of McLoone’s backroom team, and 2012 All-Ireland winner Colm McFadden of St Michael’s will also be involved.
Meanwhile, Luke Barrett (Milford) will manage the county minors for a fourth season in 2023.
A statement released tonight said: “Donegal GAA are delighted to announce the news that Luke Barrett and Leo McLoone have both agreed to accept the roles of Donegal U17 and U20 county team managers respectively, for the 2023 season.
“Luke continues to do fantastic work with our boys as he enters his third year as our u17 manager. Leo takes up the U20 role, after 2 years of dedication and commitment from Gary Duffy. We would like to thank Gary for all his work and wish him all the best for the future.
“This is a massive boost for our young players and no doubt that both their knowledge and experience will have huge impact on the development of our players at these age grades.
“We wish both Luke and Leo all the best for the season ahead.”
