McFadden grabs late winner for St. Michael’s

Killybegs…………1-15

St. Michael’s…..2-13

The sheer power, pace and raw physical strength of St. Michael’s forward Colin McFadden won this match with a superbly punched point to seal the deal after a truly thrilling affair in Fintra on Saturday.

McFadden’s last gasp winner in the 66th minute gave the Creeslough-Dunfanaghy boys their first points of the season against a gallant, youthful Killybegs side who simply refused to die, despite trailing for much of the match.

In truth, a draw may have been a fairer result, but the winners always looked that little more potent even through their defence was alarmingly open at times.

And it took a great double save from their ‘keeper Mark Anthony McGinley to deny a pacey home side a certain goal seven minutes before McFadden’s crucial winner.
