GARY McDaid is back after a year’s absence as manager of the Glenswilly senior football team.
McDaid, who was joint manager with John McGinley in 2011 when Glenswilly won their first ever Dr Maguire Cup, was ratified at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Friday night in Pairc Naomh Columba.
McDaid, who also manages teams at St Eunan’s College, where he works as a PE teacher, helped guide Glenswilly to the promised land in 2011 when he and McGinley led them to a county final win over St Michael’s two years ago.
McDaid will be assisted by Johnny McGinley and will have Brendan Walsh and Michael Cannon on board as selectors.
They take charge of a Glenswilly side that starts 2013 in Division 2 following their defeat in a relegation play-off against Gaoth Dobhair in November.
The new management team takes over from the departed Manus McFadden.
Elsewhere, Mick Murphy has been appointed the new chairman of the Glenswilly club.
