McCrea strikes late as Four Masters win

Ardara 0-5 Four Masters 0-6

AARON McCrea’s stoppage time winner gave Four Masters a third championship win in a low scoring battle against Ardara in Pearse Memorial Park on Sunday.

A tame affair, the visitors led by 0-4 to 0-3 at the break thanks to one from Jamie Crawford and frees from Seanan Carr (2) and Richard O’Rourke while Karl Joseph Molloy (2) and Johnny McHugh were on target at the other end.

But that didn’t tell the full story of the first half as Four Masters played against a strong breeze, while Ardara, who played with 14 men for 50 minutes, had three goal chances saved by Ryan Haughey.

McHugh’s free levelled the game in the first minute of the restart but Conor Reid put his side back ahead 20 minutes later after a lull in the game. Molloy levelled the game again but McCrea popped up in added time to ensure the victory for the Donegal Town men.
