McBrearty wins Player of the Week after Armagh win

Patrick McBrearty has won the GAA.ie Player of the Week after his great performance against Armagh on Sunday.

The Kilcar man was in fine form in his first start of the season as he kicked six points in total against the Orchard County in the 0-21 to 1-10 win in MacCumhaill Park.

The captain came off the bench against Dublin and Kerry but was rewarded with a start on Sunday and his performance saw him named the TG4 Man of the Match.

Dublin’s Seán Bugler and Cork man Chris Óg Jones were also nominated alongside McBrearty for Player of the Week, but the Kilcar man received 4,742 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Jones (3,437) and Bugler (2,625).

It’s a second week in a row a Donegal player has received the accolade and the second week it has went to the Kilcar club, as Ryan McHugh was named Player of the Week last week for his performance in Kerry.
