LETTERKENNY Gaels have received a welcome boost with Conor McBrearty transferring back to the club.
McBrearty has spent the early months of the year in Madrid.
He did the same last year but was back in time to help the Gaels get the points they needed to stay in Division 2, and then helped the Glebe club to the Donegal Junior ‘A’ Championship.
It has been a tough season so far for the Gaels who sit bottom of the second tier with seven defeats from seven games, and a few of them have been quite heavy losses.
The Gaels have lost a lot of players since the end of last season but a few are due to return during the summer, and McBrearty will definitely help their attacking options.
Former Donegal minor player Darragh White has returned to Naomh Muire. He had been playing his football in Dublin but should be a useful addition ahead of the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
Dungloe are another club who have received a boost as Ryan Greene has returned home from Australia.
Greene was one of Dungloe’s best attackers before heading down under. He’s still in his mid-twenties and cpould be a good option for Dessie Gallagher’s team.
Former Donegal underage player Shane Meehan has transferred back to St Naul’s from the Fionn MacCumhaill’s club in America.
Bundoran will be without well-known sharpshooter Gary Clancy as he has gone across the border and linked up with Leitrim club, Melvin Gaels.
