McBrearty named as new Donegal captain

Patrick McBrearty has been named as the new captain of the Donegal senior footballers.

There has been much focus on who would replace Michael Murphy as skipper, and Carr has chosen the 29-year-old from Kilcar.

McBrearty is a very experienced player after making his intercounty debut back in 2011.

He previously captained his club to Dr Maguire Cup success in 2017.

Hugh McFadden and Eoghan ‘Ban’ Gallagher (both of Killybegs) will act as joint vice-captains.
