Maxi Curran reflects on a ‘rollercoaster’ season

DONEGAL manager Maxi Curran praised the season his side had, despite it ending on a disappointing note.

Described as a ‘rollercoaster’ of a season and rightly so, it began with a league campaign that saw a lot of the ‘big names’ in Donegal ladies football not return for the league campaign.

That campaign saw Donegal finish bottom of Division 1 without a win as they suffered relegation.

Donegal looked doomed in the Ulster Championship when Armagh won easily by 1-15 to 2-4 in Lifford and the sides met again in the final.

But those young players who were blooded into the team in the league pushed on and with some experienced bodies returning, things looked brighter.

And they put in a terrific performance that day in Owenbeg to win their first Ulster title since 2019.
