ATHLETICS – ROSSES AC
Last weekend saw the hugely popular and well established Bundoran 10 mile. Before the race began there was a minutes applause to honour the recently passed Eamonn Harvey who will be dearly missed. There was to be a great run and win for Maria McGee retaining her title from last year and running a PB and new ladies club record time of 58:12 being 1st of 683 Ladies and 7th overall. Martina Mulhern set a goal of sub 70 mins and achieved this running a time of 1:09:52 for 17th overall. Emily Bonner was the next lady home in 1:21:19. Shauna McGinley had a fine run with 1:35:18 as the ladies claimed 3rd team. Colin Mooney was the first Rosses man back today running 1:11:23 with Denis Boner next in 1:16:45. The night before saw the Bundoran 5k where Mark Ward had a strong run in 17:12 to take a podium place in 3rd Track. Last Wednesday saw the final indoor Track and Field Live event at Abbotstown in Dublin with Oisin Gillespie and coach Aidan making the journey, It was a good run out with Oisin getting a consistent series of jumps with a best jump of 5.57m to win his section. Please note that the track at Carrickfinn will be closed for two weeks (March 16th to March 29th) as repairs are being done to the track.
