Marble Hill photo part of new Rockhill exhibition

WORKS by eleven local artists and photographers have gone on display at Rockhill House Estate.
The aim of the project is to help creatives reconnect and reach a wider audience following a difficult period for artists. Rockhill says it also hopes the exhibition will encourage more people to explore Donegal.
Among the pieces is Özgün Özdemir’s drone image of Marble Hill beach which recently clinched first place in National Geographic Traveller’s UK photography competition.
The collection, hung in the estate’s Church Restaurant, has a theme of ‘A Spirit of Place’ and drew almost 200 expressions of interest from painters as far afield as Greece.
The Molloy family, which runs Rockhill Estate, said they chose ‘A Spirit of Place’ as their theme as they believe it captures a sense of connection to Donegal. John Molloy Sr added that he was particularly delighted to have Özgün Özdemir’s work on display as Mr Özdemir works in the family’s cheese manufacturing company ‘Yeats Country Donegal’ in Convoy.
“We are absolutely delighted to display the paintings and photographs of local artists as part of the dining experience here at The Church and it is truly special that our own team member Özgün has won such a prestigious competition with an image proudly hanging on our walls.”
