THE Donegal owned and operated Maple Group has proudly announced the success of its recent charity drive which has raised an incredible €3,000 in aid of Cancer Care West Donegal.
The funds were officially presented last week to the charity at a special in store event.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the response to this campaign,” said Brian Murphy, Group Manager at Maple. “€3,000 raised in such a short time is a testament to the generosity of Donegal people and the dedication of our staff and customers.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Maple, and we’re so proud that we could be part of giving back to a cause that matters to so many families in our communities.”
The fundraiser was hosted across Maple’s network of eight forecourt convenience stores in Milford, Derrybeg (Circle K), Carrigart (Circle K), Castlefin (Circle K), Falcarragh (Circle K), Burtonport (Donegal Oil), Ballyliffin (Circle K), and Moville (Applegreen). A ninth Maple store is due to open next year in Dunfanaghy.
Cancer Care West Letterkenny, Donegal provides free psychological, emotional, and practical support services to local cancer patients and their families. The €3,000 raised by Maple will stay within Donegal, directly supporting those who need it most.
“This donation from Maple Group will make a real and immediate difference,” said Patricia Doherty for Cancer Care West Donegal.
“Our centre in Letterkenny is seeing more people reach out for support than ever before. Contributions like this allow us to continue offering free care, counselling, and guidance for people at one of the most challenging times in their lives. What makes this extra special is that it has come from local businesses and local people standing together for Donegal families.”
For Arthur McMahon, Managing Director of Maple Group, this fundraiser was about doing something in our communities in a meaningful way: “Cancer touches so many lives,” he said.
“This fundraiser was about giving something back to the community that has always supported us. To present this cheque to Cancer Care West Donegal on behalf of our staff and customers is an incredibly proud moment for us.”
Since opening its first store in 2018, Maple Group has championed strong community values, supporting local suppliers, creating local employment, and investing in Donegal communities. The success of this fundraising campaign reinforces Maple’s ongoing commitment to making a difference locally.
“This isn’t just a cheque,” added Arthur McMahon. “It’s a symbol of solidarity with anyone facing cancer in Donegal, and a promise that their community is behind them every step of the way. A huge thank you to everyone for making it successful.”
