Manslaughter verdict in Arranmore trial

A 41-year-old man has been found not guilty of the murder but guilty of the manslaughter of a teenager on Arranmore Island in the Central Criminal Court this week.

Stephen Boyle admitted killing Paul Boyle (19), at Early’s Bar, Leabgarrow on Arranmore Island, on October 3, 2009.

Paul Boyle, who was from the island of Arranmore, was out for a night with his father and friends on October 2, 2009.

Stephen Boyle lived in London but came back and forth to a house he had built on the island.

The Central Criminal Court heard that Paul Boyle had worked for Stephen Boyle in London for a time, but that the two men did not get on.
