The body of a man was recovered from the River Finn outside Ballybofey yesterday.
Gardaí were called to the scene at Glenmore, Cloghan, yesterday, at 12.30pm.
The body of the man, understood to be in his 40s, was recovered from the water a short time later. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The local coroner has been notified of the incident.
It is understood the death is being treated as a tragic accident.
