THERE is good news for residents of Rosbracken and Raymoghy as steps are finally being taken to resolve the ongoing issues with water supply in the area.
Water outages in this area of Manorcunningham have been a recurring issue for a number of years and most recently, the residents were left without water on Christmas Day, St Patrick’s Day and again on Easter Sunday.
However, Uisce Éireann has now confirmed they are proceeding with an application for funding to reinstate the infrastructure in the area which will fix the problematic section.
Cathaoirleach of the Letterkenny Milford Municipal District, Cllr Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly, has been pushing for work to be carried out in the area, and he said this is extremely positive news.
“At an online meeting recently, officials of Uisce Éireann confirmed they will be submitting an application for funding to reinstate the necessary infrastructure and hopefully resolve the ongoing issues in the area.
“This is very welcome news as these residents have been plagued with outages and water bursts for a number of years.
“I will be keeping a close eye on the application and doing my best to ensure it is granted.
“There is no doubt this infrastructure is essential and needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
“So this is very positive news for the people of the Rosbracken and Raymoghy areas,” said Cllr Kelly
