Man who drowned while fishing is named 

A SERVICE will be held tomorrow for Valerri Strunhar (60s) who drowned after getting into difficulty while fishing off Donegal’s west coast.

The incident happened shortly before 8pm on Monday when Mr Strunhar was fishing from rocks at Marameelan, near Dungloe.

It is understood he fell into the sea.

He was removed from the water and later was pronounced deceased.

Mr Strunhar, of Ukraine, had been living in Bunbeg House after fleeing his war torn country.

His remains will repose at Mc Glynn’s Funeral Home Dungloe (F94ND68) on Friday, September 6 from 3pm with service at 5pm.

Cremation will take place at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at a later date.
