A MAN is to stand trial charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of two teenagers in Donegal almost eight years ago.

Garda Pauline Doherty gave evidence of serving two Books of Evidence on Ricky Fagan at Monday’s Letterkenny District Court.
Fagan is charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of teenage friends Nathan Fullerton (17) and Nathan Farrell (18) at Quigley’s Point on April 29, 2017.
Fagan is also charged with the possession of cocaine and with possessing cocaine with the intent to sell or supply it to others relating to an incident at Mulberry Avenue, Buncrana, on July 10, 2020.

Sergeant Jim Collins asked that the court direct that Fagan’s address not be published in the media owing to ‘sensitivities’.
Sergeant Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for Fagan to be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court commencing on May 25.

Judge Ciaran Liddy administered the alibi warning.
Solicitor for the accused, Mr Donough Cleary requested one counsel on the alleged misuse of drugs charge and two counsel for the alleged dangerous driving causing death charges.
It is alleged Fagan was the driver of a car in which Mr Fullerton and Mr Farrell were travelling in on April 29, 2017, which crashed on the Quigley’s Point to Moville road in the early hours.
