A 20-year-old Derry man will appear in court in Sligo today charged in connection with a series of driving offences across Donegal yesterday.
He was arrested by Gardaí yesterday evening after an incident outside the Fire Station on the DeValera Road at around 5 pm, when a car crashed into an Audi A4.
A man driving a Nissan Primera fled the scene of a crash on foot and wearing just one shoe.
The man had been tailed by Gardai from Ardara that afternoon after he was spotted driving dangerously in the area.
Attempts to stop the suspect using a Stinger device failed and the subsequent chase lasted close to an hour and came to a sudden and dramatic end in Letterkenny, where he crashed into an Audi A4.
The one-shoed suspect was apprehended close to the Polestar Roundabout about an hour later.
He was last night charged at Letterkenny Garda Station with a number of alleged offences and will appear at Sligo District Court later today.
