A MAN had to attend Letterkenny University Hospital following an alleged assault at the wekeend.

Gardaí are appealing for the assistance of the public in relation to an assault incident that is alleged to have occurred on the High Road, Letterkenny in the early hours of Saturday, September 20, between approximately 12.30am and 4am.

A man was reported to have been assaulted by a man who is described as being tall, of slim build, dark haired and wearing a black jacket and black trousers. Following the incident, the man in question then took off running in the direction of Letterkenny Main Street.

The injured man attended Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries he sustained, none of which are life threatening in nature.

“We appeal to anyone who may have travelled in the area of the High Road, Letterkenny between 1.30am and 1am with a dash-cam, to make the footage available to Gardaí. If anyone can assist with relevant information, they are asked to contact Letterkenny Gardaí on (074) 9167100,” said a garda spokesperson.
