Man taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Letterkenny

A pedestrian was taken to Letterkenny University Hosptial after being struck by a car in Letterkenny at lunchtime.

The incident occurred on Lower Main Street at 1pm.

Gardai immediately sealed off the street and road diversions are in place.

It is understood the road will remain closed for a number of hours

A garda spokesperson said: “The incident, involving a car and a male pedestrian, occurred at around 1pm.

“The pedestrian was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for assessment.

“No other injuries are reported at this time.

“The road remains closed at this time and diversions are in place.”
