Man taken to hospital after alleged assault in Letterkenny

A MAN had to be taken to hospital following an alleged assault by a group of males in Letterkenny last week.

Gardaí in Letterkenny are investigating an incident in which a man was allegedly assaulted by a group of male on the Port Road, Letterkenny, at 3.10am on Tuesday morning.

The injured man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained, none of which are believed to be life threatening in nature.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who travelled in the Port Road area in the early hours of this morning and who had a dash cam to make contact with us. Should anybody have witnessed the incident we ask them to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100.”

Meanwhile in a separate incident, Gardaí have appealed for dash cam footage following a collision in the Oldtown area of Letterkenny on Friday, September 22.

The collision happened between midday and 12.15pm.

Gardaí are asking for information on sightings of a dark coloured car with a possible partial registration of ‘161D’ or ‘161DL’ in the area at the time.
