Man sustained injury following assault in Letterkenny

A MAN sustained injuries after he reported that three men exited a car and he was assaulted by one of the men.

Gardaí are investigating the alleged assault that occurred on the Ramelton Road, Letterkenny, close to the bus station, on Saturday, May 3 at approximately 4.40pm.

The man reported that three men exited a silver VW and that one of the men then assaulted him. The VW then left with the men on board again in the direction of the shopping centre.

An ambulance was called for the man as he had sustained injuries. None of his injuries are believed to be life threatening in nature.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anyone who may have observed the incident to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100. If anyone travelled in the area of the Station roundabout, the shopping centre car park or the Port Road between 4.15pm and 5pm with a dash-cam, we ask them to make the footage available to us.”
