A MAN is seriously ill in hospital following an overnight crash in Letterkenny.

Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating the single vehicle collision which occurred at Magheranan, Letterkenny, at approximately 5.30am this morning.

A car left the road and collided with a fence. The male driver, who is 43-years-old, was seriously injured and taken to Letterkenny University Hospital. A female passenger and three children suffered minor injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
