Man pleads guilty to arson at apartment complex

A MAN pleaded guilty to an arson attack at an apartment complex when he appeared before Letterkenny Circuit Court today.
 
Paul McGinley of Glenhola, Gortahork admitted starting a fire on September 29th 2016 at the underground car park under the apartment complex on Rosemount Lane in Letterkenny.
 
The court heard that nine vehicles were damaged along with nearby business premises Watson Menswear and O’Hehirs Bakery.
 
Mr McGinley also pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment when he poured petrol on two cars and put a gas cylinder in a car and set it alight. 
 
Judge John Aylmer ordered a probation and welfare report to be undertaken and adjourned the case to the next sitting of the Circuit Court.
