A win over Tyrone is always sweet but for Michael Murphy, getting the opportunity to pull on the Donegal jersey once again was the most satisfying part of Saturday.
It was nearly six months since Donegal last played, and that was a hugely disappointing Ulster Final defeat against Cavan.
The team have had a long time to stew over that defeat, and there were some false dawns when it came to returning to action this year, as Covid-19 delayed the start to the season.
Murphy showed no signs of any rustiness as he had a point on the board after only 13 seconds, and he played some strong, imaginative football over the course of the seventy-plus minutes.
