Man needed medical treatment following weekend assault

A MAN had to receive medical treatment following an assault in Ballybofey at the weekend.

Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault at a takeaway premises at Main Street, Ballybofey in the early hours of Saturday, December 14, at approximately 3.40am.

A garda spokesperson urged anyone who was in the area with dash cam to make the footage available to them.

“A man reported that he was assaulted by another man at that location. He had to receive medical treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

“We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the incident to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100. If anybody travelled at Main Street, Ballybofey between 3.15am and 4am with a dash-cam, we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
