Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that on the day in question, the defendant was found on the premises with two other persons.

“When asked to leave they did so, but they had no permission to be there at that time. It was a derelict property,” said Sergeant Doyle.

The court was told McBride is currently in custody on this matter as well as other matters.

McBride has 11 previous convictions for road traffic and public order, the court was told.

Solicitor Mr Donough Cleary said: “He has been in custody since November 24. He was invited on to these premises by a third party.”

In light of McBride’s early plea and the mitigation outlined to the court, Judge Emile Daly imposed a conviction and fine of €200.
