A MAN found in a garden shed of a house in Killygordon with a long bladed knife has been jailed.
Ryan Campbell (25) was charged with trespassing with a knife, weapon of offence or other article at Forest Park, Killygordon, on December 8, 2024.
Campbell, with an address on court papers of 8 Gleann NaGreine, Mullindrait, Stranorlar, was also charged with one count of criminal damage resulting from damage he caused to a car on the same date and at the same location.
On Monday, Letterkenny District Court heard how gardaí received a report of two males, one of which was Campbell, banging on the door of a house in Killygordon. Campbell was subsequently found in a shed in possession of a long bladed knife.
Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that Campbell later apologised over the incident.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher told the court his client had recently been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment at Letterkenny Circuit Court. He said that he now also wanted to bring a conclusion to this matter.
“He had a grievance at the time,” said Mr Gallagher.
For the firearms offence, Judge Ciaran Liddy imposed a 10-month custodial sentence. He took the criminal damage charge into consideration.
