A Letterkenny man has been returned for trial to Letterkenny Circuit Court on a single charge of allowing over €22,000 of criminal cash to flow through his AIB bank account.
The defendant, Dylan Loughlin, with an address at Windmill View, Glencar, appeared at this week’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court where Detective Garda Gerard McCready gave evidence of arresting him at Letterkenny courthouse.
He faces a charge of engaging in converting, transferring, handling, acquiring, processing or using property that was the proceeds of criminal activity.
The property involved cash lodgements to his AIB account accumulating to €22,958 during the period of May 3, 2022, to March 3, 2023, knowing it was the proceeds of criminal conduct.
When cautioned and charged, defendant made no reply.
Stating that the Gardaí had no objection to bail, Sgt. Jim Collins said it was on the basis of a number of conditions including that the defendant sign on three times a week at Letterkenny Garda Station, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He must also provide Gardaí with a mobile phone number and have the phone charged at all times.
The case was adjourned to November 25 for the service of the Book of Evidence.
