Man dies following Lifford crash

A man in his 30s has died following a crash in Lifford yesterday, Gardaí have confirmed.

A tw0-vehcile collision occurred at Tullyrap, Raphoe,  on the main Letterkenny to Lifford Road,  just before 1pm yesterday. A car with two occupants collided with a lorry and both the driver and passenger were rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital.

The driver, a male in his early 30s, from Belfast,  was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

The female in her late teens remains in Letterkenny University Hospital. The driver of the lorry was uninjured in this incident and the road has since re-opened.

The latest fatality brings to six the number of people who have lost their lives on Donegal’s roads in just over a week.
