A PENSIONER quizzed twice by murder squad detectives over the disappearance of Mary Boyle today (Tuesday) denied being involved in her killing.
Brian McMahon says he was ‘sickened’ when he was detained by Gardai investigation Mary’s disappearance from Cashelard in March 1977.
McMahon, from Ballyshannon, moved to Sligo in 1980 after being medically discharged from the army. He is a convicted sex offender.
McMahon told the Sligo Champion today: “I know I had nothing to do with the disappearance of that girl.”
He said he knew Mary Boyle’s mother from his time living with foster parents in Ballyshannon.
He said he vomited after being arrested by gardai last November and held for 48 hours.
“I was violently sick all the way up to Mullingar (garda station). I didn’t eat for two days. I’m totally innocent,” he claimed.
