Man charged with assault in Letterkenny car park

A MAN charged with assault causing harm in the centre of Letterkenny has been further remanded to appear before court to be served with a book of evidence.

Dawid Maciag (33) of 3 Ard Adhamhnain, Sallaghagrane, Letterkenny, is charged with assault causing harm at the car park on Justice Walsh Road on April 23, last.

He appeared before Letterkenny District Court by video link from Castlerea prison.

Inspector Michael Harrison told Judge Paul kelly that the book of evidence will be ready for November 2.

The defendant asked his solicitor Patrick Gallagher why the book of evidence was not ready, stating: “Why was it not ready a week ago?”

The case first came before the court on September 14 and Judge Kelly later refused jurisdiction.

The defendant was remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear at the court on November 2 for service of the book of evidence.
