A MAN who is charged in relation to a fatal hit and run in Lifford has been released on bail.
Sean Connaughton (50) with an address in Dundalk, county Louth appeared at Letterkenny District Court today (Monday).
Connaughton was arrested on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of hit and run causing death or serious injury.
Named locally as Laura Connolly, the 34-year-old was struck by a white van at 2.45am at Townparks on the N15 in Lifford. She died later at Letterkenny University Hospital.
At court on Monday, Connaughton was charged with related motoring offences and the court heard that a full file will be drawn up for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further directions.
Bail was granted on his own bond of €100 and the case was adjourned until October 18 2021.
